Jovanni Cruz Teaching Philosophy

I was fortunate to play four years in college baseball with two of the best teams in their respected divisions. I gave everyday my maximum effort and never took a day off. Unfortunately, my junior in college I had a torn UCL and had to receive whats known today as Tommy John Surgery. I instantly realized the importance of not only my health but the health in baseball period. The guys who stay healthy the longest have the best opportunities to continue to play on the next level.

I want to teach the kids today how to practice with intensity and be healthy doing so. My personal beliefs are that kids have more in their bodies but we have to teach them to get it out. In doing so, the kids gain confidence with their growth in their abilities and begin to have fun.

Lastly, I help kids understand the game of baseball. Allowing them to make decisions on the field and create conversations. I don't want a kid to do something because the coach said so. I want him to know why he's doing the drills and same with the parents. I want to continue to educate the young minds of the game so they and the parents know what to look out for.
